HILARY GOMES

About the Art

For me, painting can lift spirits, create hope, heal grief, and create symbols and signs of personal transformation. I paint healing animal spirits and symbolism such as hummingbirds, dragonflies and butterflies for the purpose of healing. I also find spiritual signs in ephemeral moments such as calming water surfaces, moving clouds, beauty of a flower and children’s spirits. I paint with environmentally friendly paint such as water mixable oil paint, acrylics, gouache, oil pastels, chalk pastels, and watercolors.
